Brief Overview of Sauna Types
There are two main types of saunas, Traditional Finnish Saunas and Infra-Red Saunas. Traditional Finnish Saunas heat the air via Hot Rocks. Infra-red Saunas, heat the occupants directly via invisible FAR Infra-Red light. A further, ralatively rare, Hybrid Sauna type exists, which uses both the hot rock as well as the Infra-Red methods of heating.
ALL of the above sauna types can be either Custom Built or be of the Portable (Kit Form) variety.
Classic ALSO offers the DIY sauna enthusiast, the opportunity to purchase all specialised sauna raw materials, spares and accessories, to build custom saunas, as well as to self-assemble the Portable (kit) saunas.
All the required information and materials are available below on this website to allow you to be able to build your own sauna of any type. Further good news is that the information is free, the materials are cheap, and its not as complicated as you might think.
Classic Log Cabin Sauna
Complete modular log cabin sauna solution. (assembles in +- 3hrs.) All that is required is a smooth level floor, which is under cover and protected from rain, and an electrical isolator in close proximity.
Custom Far Infra-red (FIR)
Custom FIR Sauna rooms are identical in construction to the Traditional Hot Rock Sauna's, but for the technology that provides the heat. The experience and resultant effect on the body are totally different.
Custom Sauna (In doors)
Classic builds Custom Saunas internal to “existing” walls (in-doors), in a numner of different sizes. +- 2000mm (back and front Walls) x 2000mm (side walls) x 2000mm high.
Custom Sauna (Outdoors)
Classic builds Custom Saunas internal to “existing” walls (outdoors), OR “Wendy-house-like” structure in a number of different sizes. +- 1200mm (back and front Walls) x 1800mm (side walls) x 2000mm high.
